The 4th arrondissement, also known as arrondissement de l'Hôtel de Ville, is located on the right bank of the River Seine next to the 1st, 3rd, 11th, 12th and 5th (on the other side of the Seine). It contains the southern part of Le Marais, also known as the gay district of Paris, and most of Île de la Cité.

Famous Places: Le Marais (shared with the 3rd arrondissement), The Centre Pompidou, The National Museum of Modern Art, Île Saint-Louis, Notre-Dame, Hôtel de Ville
